itrak-af-system-wMultiple movers, each consisting of a frame and a permanent magnet linear motor, can be individually moved along linear or curved rails. The iTRAK can be used, for example, in packaging lines, in the medical industry (bag filling lines), and even in assembly lines. The combination of iTRAK technology with Rockwell Automation's Integrated Architecture (programmable with Studio 5000 Logix Designer) lays the foundation for a new standard in dynamic conveying solutions.

The movement of each mover can be programmed individually, providing exceptional flexibility. Switching to different formats and/or production sequences is seamless, as the iTRAK system is suitable for a wide range of applications across diverse production environments and industries. In addition to its flexibility, iTRAK can operate at speeds up to 7 m/s with a positioning accuracy (stops) of 0.05 mm. Accelerations of up to 10 G enable rapid starts from a vertical position, making it an extremely dynamic conveying system. It is designed with energy-efficient linear motors utilizing powerful magnets and advanced digital control.

The Cama Group, headquartered in Italy and renowned worldwide for its cutting-edge technology and reliable packaging systems for the food and non-food industries, has introduced a new cartoning machine based on iTRAK. The system is fully integrated with Rockwell Automation hardware and software technology, selected by Cama to form the core of the machine's automation and control. “With a 10% reduction in footprint and an advanced control software system, the CL 175 uses less steel in its construction,” explains Riccardo Panepinto, Operations Director of the Cama Group. Other advantages for the end user include streamlined format changeovers, reduced maintenance requirements, and greater energy savings. The automatic changeover requires no manual intervention and is also key to improving machine performance.

Both horizontal and vertical conveyor lines can be assembled using iTRAK rail sections, which are available in straight and curved (90°) versions in standard 400 mm lengths. Furthermore, the rail sections come with three different motor sizes (50, 100, and 150 mm) for various outputs. The movers are available in standard versions and can be customized for specific applications. Customers can also design their own movers if they choose.

The power and control modules are included with the iTRAK system and are designed for global voltage inputs. Programming is performed using Rockwell Automation's Studio 5000 Logix Designer, while communications are enabled via EtherNet/IP.
