Additional filter components are often required for a DC/DC converter module to meet Class A or Class B EMC limits. Choke coils from various manufacturers can be selected for this EMC filter. Although these different inductors have similar technical specifications, they can exhibit significant variations in electromagnetic interference. Since it is also essential that the filter circuit matches the DC/DC converter's characteristics across the entire frequency range, RECOM now offers its RLS series of inductors, which have been pre-tested and matched to RECOM converters to pass both conducted and radiated interference limits. Many other manufacturers only perform conducted interference tests, as these can be measured without an expensive EMC test chamber, but when laboratory approval is required, their designs may fail the EMC test due to radiated interference. With RECOM's solution, customers can be confident that they will pass both conducted and radiated EMC tests. Samples and OEM pricing are available from all authorized distributors or directly from RECOM.
