Schneider Electric's Modicon M221 logic controllers minimize installation difficulties by integrating USB and SD card ports, two analog inputs, and up to 40 I/O points, while the choice between standard or compact form factors provides maximum versatility. M221 PLCs can be installed in a remote control panel for instant machine monitoring and visualization.
Schneider Electric's Modicon PLC range, available from RS, is further enhanced by the arrival of the M241 series for high-performance applications. The M241 features five integrated CANopen-compatible ports for fieldbus architectures of up to 63 devices and includes an integrated web server, enabling monitoring and maintenance from anywhere using a mobile device. A wide range of I/O expansion modules and safety relays are also available.
The new Omron CP1L series offers the capabilities of a modular PLC in a compact micro-PLC format. It provides integrated machine control functions, including exceptional positioning capabilities, as well as powerful options such as an integrated Ethernet port with socket services functionality, I/O and communication expansion boards, and application compatibility with Omron's CP1H, CJ1, and CS1 series PLCs.
Also available at RS is Omron's new NB series of HMI panels, which introduces a new and improved look to user interfaces, including color touchscreens ranging from 3.5 to 10 inches. Their long-life LED backlighting and increased data storage capacity allow for more elaborate graphics, while improved window management, animation support, and macros help designers create new and intuitive layouts optimized for industries such as packaging, food, plastics, and textiles, among others.
Schneider's Modicon M580 completes this first wave of new technologies available from RS. It is the world's first Ethernet PAC (ePAC) automation controller, bringing all the benefits of open networks to process control development, implementation, and operations. The new M580 features built-in telematics security and ATEX II certification for use in environments with a risk of dust or gases. It is ideal for installations using Schneider's PlantStruxure integrated automation architecture, helping to increase efficiency.
