In this series, designated PSAC09R, the charger features a 5V output with a micro USB connector and meets Level V requirements. The adapter's constant current meets the Rev. 1.0 specifications for USB Battery Chargers, making it ideal for charging lithium batteries in personal electronics.

According to Keith Hopwood, Vice President of Marketing at Phihong USA, in 2009 several states and regulatory bodies, including the European Union, defined a common power supply, establishing the micro USB connector as the standard for charging batteries in personal electronic devices that process data, such as mobile phones. With the increasing popularity of high-resolution touchscreen technologies in applications like tablets, the constant current of the PSAC09R is ideal for charging more powerful lithium-ion batteries.

The new charger, which replaces the PSM08R mini-USB adapter, is more economical and offers improved performance. It features double insulation, meets Class B EMI standards, and includes overcurrent, short-circuit, and overvoltage protection. This adapter delivers constant current for fast charging of lithium-ion batteries, preceded by a constant voltage mode for a final boost.
The PSAC09R has interchangeable AC connection clips for different countries. An IEC320 C8 AC clip is also available to convert the wall plug format to a desktop format connected via a 2-conductor power cable. All AC clips are sold separately.
The PSAC09R measures 71.7 mm x 45 mm x 29.79 mm and weighs 120 g.

The 1.5m output cable terminates with a standard Micro-B USB connector. Phihong offers users the option to change the connectors at the factory.
