During the research phase, HT Micron worked on creating the semiconductor solution that will be integrated with Nowi's Power Management Integrated (PMIC), designed for low-power IoT devices. Equipped in Sigfox devices and powered by 0G technology, this solution will help reduce battery consumption and offer longer battery life, while also lowering the total cost of ownership.

Nowi's PMIC is designed to efficiently harvest energy from ambient energy sources, such as light and vibration, to charge various energy storage elements, such as rechargeable batteries or capacitors. It is best suited for most low-power applications, such as distributed IoT sensors and TV remote controls.

Sigfox and HT Micron have been working together for several years, and HT Micron was identified as a strategic partner for this project because of its expertise in creating innovative modules and its belief that energy harvesting is essential for the mass and sustainable adoption of IoT.

The first step in this project is a development kit that integrates Nowi's PMIC solution with HT Micron's Sigfox packaged system, which will be used for testing by R&D and product development teams.
