OLFER Electronics presents the new range of power supplies from MEAN WELL. The new XLG-240/320-48-ABV power supplies offer constant voltage output and flicker-free regulation for specialized equipment used in poultry lighting.
Due to the varying sizes of animal farms, poultry lighting is designed with constant voltage luminaires and wired according to the scale of the site. Length restrictions for uniform regulation must also be considered.
For optimal animal development, their physiological characteristics must be taken into account. For example, poultry are more sensitive to ambient temperature and lighting flicker, as adequate lighting can stimulate their appetite, increase feed intake, and accelerate growth.
Traditional constant voltage power supplies for regulation typically use PWM (pulse-width modulation) output designs, but PWM regulation often causes flicker. To solve this problem, MEAN WELL has developed a flicker-free dimming LED driver with constant voltage output, which reduces the likelihood of animals panicking in response to changes in ambient light and improves their growth and egg production.
In addition to poultry lighting applications, the flicker-free design is also suitable for photography studios, reading areas, high-end boutiques, and other locations with demanding lighting quality requirements.
Generally, the lighting industry uses 0-10V dimmable drivers and combines them with a lighting control system for dimming. MEAN WELL and OLFER Electronics currently offer three power ratings for agricultural lighting products, allowing customers to choose according to their needs.
Furthermore, the DALI digital lighting control can be combined with the DLC-02 and DAP-04 (available in our product catalog) for process lighting control or for different stage configurations if customers require more flexible and digital smart agricultural lighting solutions.
