The VEC40, VEC50, VEC65, and VES90 series are AC-DC adapters that comply with the new Level VI regulations from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and the new Level 2 regulations of the EU Code of Conduct (CoC) for energy efficiency in external power adapters. With less than 0.15 watts of standby power consumption for the VEC50, VEC65, and VES90, and less than 0.075 watts for the VEC40, they offer an average efficiency of 89% or higher, exceeding the requirements of the EU CoC Level 2 efficiency standard at 10% load.
The Level 2 CoC has been in effect since January 1, 2016, and the US DOE Level VI will take effect on February 10, 2016. These requirements reduce no-load power consumption to less than 0.15 Watts for 50-250W power supplies and 0.075 Watts for 1-49W power supplies, and move the market towards a flatter efficiency curve, with required efficiency readings now for 10, 25, 50, 75, and 100% load.
With single outputs of 12, 15, 19, 24, and 48 VDC, this family of adapters is recommended for a wide range of industrial applications, especially for portable equipment and applications requiring an external power source.
These adapters, measuring 116.3 x 52.4 x 3.13 mm for the VEC series and 139.0 x 58.0 x 31.0 mm for the VES series, come with an IEC320-C14 connector for the input. The VEC models also offer an optional IEC320-C6 connector. The VEC models are LPS (limited power source) certified, which reduces the risk of electric shock if installed incorrectly.
The VEC40 and VEC50 have a temperature range from 0° to 65°C, with power limitation from 45°C, and the VEC65 and VES90 have a temperature range from 0° to 60°C, with power limitation from 40°C.
All models have CCC (China Compulsory Certification) approval, as well as ITE 60950-1 electrical safety and comply with EMC Class B for both conducted and radiated radiation.
The VEC40, VEC50, VEC65 and VES90 series are available from the specialist local distributor VENCO Electrónica SA in Spain and Portugal, as well as from Farnell, element14.
