In traditional printed products, the new department will develop its work around the new functionalities that these new technologies allow, ranging from traceability, monitoring or anti-counterfeiting, to the incorporation of barrier, bactericidal, mechanical or surface properties, including the development of smart or active packaging and labels.
Furthermore, work will be done on developing inks, varnishes, lacquers, and coatings in general with new functionalities and improved properties. This is possible thanks to the incorporation of polymer matrices in solution that provide chromoactive, conductive, semiconducting, or dielectric functionalities. New devices for indicating time-temperature, freshness, humidity, or leakage will also be developed, along with innovations in the printing of flexible electronic components such as RFID antennas, printed circuit boards, and resistors.
