mc1181controllersignaldigitalwThe new DSC family enables efficient dual motor control with 12 PWM motor control channels (6 pairs), two 12-bit A/D converters, multiple 32-bit quadrature encoder interfaces, and two CAN modules. With this level of integration, the dsPIC33EP512GM710 family can independently control two motors with a single microcontroller, optimizing system costs. This family also serves as a communication hub in automotive or industrial applications for connecting multiple CAN buses.

This family expands upon the existing dsPIC33EP family by supporting 512 KB of Flash, 48 KB of RAM, and four operational amplifiers. Other features include enhanced analog functionality with two independent A/D converter modules, configurable at 1.1 Msps and 10 bits with four sample-and-hold circuits, or 500 ksps and 12 bits with one sample-and-hold circuit, supporting up to 49 channels. This analog integration enables advanced sensor applications that require multi-precision A/D converters with multiple sample-and-hold circuits, as well as the processing capabilities of a DSP. The dsPIC33EP512GM710 family also incorporates a Peripheral Trigger Generator (PTG) for programming complex, high-speed operations on peripherals, reducing the number of software cycles and firmware complexity. The dsPIC33EP512GM710 devices enable more efficient and less expensive designs for household appliances such as air conditioning systems, washing machines, dishwashers, and refrigerators; automotive cooling fans, fuel pumps, water pumps, and sensors; and industrial equipment such as embroidery machines, lathes, and printers, among other applications.
The dsPIC33EP512GM710 family is supported by Microchip's dsPICDEM MCLV-2 development board (DM330021-2) and dsPICDEM MCHV-2 development system (DM330023-2) with the new dsPIC33EP512GM706 (MA330033) single-motor PIM with an integrated operational amplifier. For motor control applications, a new dsPIC33EP512GM710 (MA330035) general-purpose PIM is available for Microchip's Explorer 16 development board (DM240001).

The new dsPIC33EP512GM710 microcontroller family is now available for sampling and volume production.
