The MSPM0G5187 microcontrollers incorporate an edge AI neural processing unit (NPU) accelerator, enabling sensing, processing, and control functions directly on the device. This capability facilitates the integration of intelligent functions into a wide variety of products and applications without the need for continuous reliance on external processing resources.
The microcontrollers offer up to 128 KB of integrated Flash memory with error-correcting code (ECC) and up to 32 KB of SRAM, also protected by ECC and parity. The Flash memory is organized into two main banks and includes address swapping support, facilitating on-the-fly firmware updates.
Key features also include a USB 2.0 Full-Speed interface with integrated PHY, clock source, and termination resistors. This interface supports both host and device operation without an external crystal. The devices also incorporate four configurable UNICOMM serial interface modules and a digital audio interface, expanding their capabilities for audio connectivity and processing applications.

In terms of cybersecurity, the MSPM0G5187 features an AES accelerator compatible with various encryption modes, secure storage for up to four AES keys, and configurable firewalls designed to protect the device's code and data.
The analog section includes a 12-bit, 1.6 Msps analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with up to 26 external channels, as well as a high-speed comparator with an 8-bit digital DAC reference. These features enable applications requiring high signal acquisition and processing capabilities.
The MSPM0G5187 is particularly well-suited for applications that need to combine efficient processing, low power consumption, and smart features, including household appliances, medical devices, building automation, mobile phones, and wearable devices.

Development Kit Available. Along with the new microcontrollers, Mouser also offers the Texas Instruments LP-MSPM0G5187 LaunchPad™ development kit , designed to facilitate the evaluation and development of applications based on this MCU family. The kit includes an XDS110 debug probe, buttons, and USB Type-C® connectors, providing the necessary elements to quickly begin development.
