The PC8548-EP is an embedded microprocessor based on a Power Architecture e500 core, delivering over 3000 MIPS at 1333 MHz. It is a general-purpose processor ideal for high-reliability applications, offering a wide range of high-speed connectivity options, including Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), PCI Express®, and Serial RapidIO®. However, thanks to its advanced security features, including encryption, it is also well-suited for secure applications in the aerospace and defense sectors. It is supplied in an SnPb BGA package and is specified for the full range of military operating temperatures (-55°C to +125°C).

e2v Inc. has announced the availability of EP (Enhanced Products) versions of the highly reliable PC8548-EP microprocessor, which offers an extended temperature range of -55°C to +125°C, as well as the ability to operate according to its electrical specifications in environments requiring extended temperatures.
