Peripherals Offering High Application Flexibility:
The CLC peripherals of the PIC10F(LF)32x and PIC1xF(LF)150x microcontrollers enable software control of combinational and sequential logic, increasing the on-chip interconnection of peripherals and I/O. This reduces the number of external components, saves code space, and adds functionality. The CWG works with multiple peripherals to generate complementary waveforms with deadband control and auto-turn-off, thus improving switching efficiencies. Furthermore, the NCO peripheral enables linear frequency control and offers high resolution, which are essential requirements for applications such as lighting ballasts, tone generation, and other resonant control circuits. The microcontrollers are also characterized by their low power consumption, with currents below 30 µA/MHz in active mode and less than 20 nA in sleep mode, as well as an integrated 16 MHz internal oscillator, A/D converter, and up to four PWM (pulse-width modulation) peripherals. In addition, an integrated temperature indicator module allows for low-cost temperature measurements.
Development tool
The development is supported by the PICDEM™ Lab Development Kit (DM163045), priced at $134.99, which includes samples of the PIC10F322 and PIC16F1507 microcontrollers. The F1 Evaluation Platform (DM164130-1), priced at $39.99, is also available for development with enhanced midrange 8-bit PIC microcontrollers, including the PIC1xF(LF)150x family. A free CLC configuration tool is also available, which streamlines the CLC module setup process by simulating register and combinational logic functionality in a graphical user interface (GUI). The new microcontrollers are also compatible with standard Microchip development tools, including the PICkit™ 3 debugger/programmer, MPLAB® IDE, MPLAB REAL ICE™ in-circuit emulator, and MPLAB ICD3 in-circuit debugger, as well as Microchip and HI-TECH C® compilers.
The PIC10F(LF)32x and PIC1xF(LF)150x microcontrollers are available in a variety of 6- to 20-pin SOT-23, PDIP, MSOP, TSSOP, DFN, and QFN
packages.
