The Renesas RA8D2 MCUs, available from Mouser, offer single- and dual-core options, featuring a 1 GHz Arm® Cortex®-M85 processor and, optionally, a 250 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 processor, delivering raw compute performance up to 7300 CoreMark. The optional Cortex-M33 processor enables efficient system partitioning and task separation, while the integrated MRAM offers several advantages over flash memory: high write cycle endurance, data retention, faster writes without pre-erasing, byte addressing, lower leakage currents, and reduced manufacturing costs. The RA8D2 integrates high-resolution graphics peripherals, such as a graphics LCD controller with parallel RGB and MIPI DSI interfaces, as well as a 2D graphics engine, enabling high-performance graphics applications. These highly integrated MCUs also incorporate 16-bit parallel camera interfaces and MIPI CSI-2 for capturing image and video data from camera sensors. The RA8D2's PDM and SSI interfaces enable audio and voice for AI applications, along with various connectivity options, including Gigabit Ethernet, a TSN switch, Octal SPI, USB, and CAN FD. It also offers advanced security through an integrated cryptographic engine, secure boot, secure debugging, and factory programming, as well as DLM, tamper protection, and DPA/SPA attack protection. The RA8D2 is available in 224-pin and 289-pin BGA packages.
Mouser also offers the Renesas Electronics EK-RA8D2 Evaluation Kit , which allows users to easily assess the functionality of RA8D2 MCUs and develop embedded system applications using the Flexible Software Package (FSP) and Renesas' e2 studio integrated development environment. Users can leverage comprehensive commissioning features and their choice of plugins from the ecosystem to implement a wide range of applications, such as AI-powered machine vision and advanced HMI interfaces. They can also download a number of sample projects to quickly evaluate key peripherals and accelerate proof-of-concept development. Mouser also offers the E2 Emulator Lite, a low-cost on-chip debugger and flash memory programmer for the RX, RA, RE, and RL78 MCU families.
