Multiple package options are available, including the 48-pin version that supports up to 46 I/O with external interrupt capability, giving developers great design flexibility and application scalability.

The MG51 is equipped with four 16-bit timers and up to five independent UARTs. These include two UARTs with integrated error detection and automatic address recognition, and three ISO 7816-3 compliant interfaces (which can also function as UARTs with support for automatic parity checking). An SPI interface and an I²C interface are also provided to support various communication and data transfer needs.

The series supports up to 12 PWM output channels, making it ideal for applications with small motors, such as fans and pumps. It also integrates up to 15 channels of 12-bit ADCs with continuous conversion at 500 kSPS, capable of real-time detection of temperature, current, and light, making it well-suited for smart home appliances, energy control modules, and automation systems.

The MG51 provides 24 interrupt sources and four interrupt priority levels. Combined with a flexible I/O configuration, it is ideal for systems requiring multi-point input control and event triggering, such as LED modulation, keypad control, audio, and alarm modules. The series operates reliably across a wide industrial temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and offers high noise immunity with ESD protection up to 7 kV and EFT protection up to 4.4 kV. It supports a wide operating voltage range of 2.4 V to 5.5 V, ensuring stable performance in diverse power environments.

Regarding chip security, this series offers three protection mechanisms:
It prevents program reading through the ICP pins using Flash lock bits; it features
an integrated 128-byte Security Protection ROM (SPROM). In security mode, the SPROM region is executable only and inaccessible for reading code or data. In non-security mode, it can also be used as data flash memory;
and it provides a 96-bit Unique Identifier (UID) and a customizable 128-bit Unique Client Identifier (UCID).
Package options include TSSOP20/28, QFN20/33, and LQFP32/48, for a total of six types, meeting the needs of space-constrained applications. The entire MG51 series is now in mass production and fully available.
Comprehensive development resources, including NuMaker development boards and Nu-Link debuggers, are also available. MG51 is compatible with the Keil C51, IAR EW8051, and NuEclipse SDCC development toolchains. It's worth noting that NuEclipse is Nuvoton's cross-platform integrated development suite for 8051 and Arm cores, specifically designed for the NuMicro® MCU series. It integrates multiple Eclipse plugins and tools, enabling developers to efficiently create, compile, and debug projects within the familiar Eclipse framework on Linux and Windows platforms, thereby accelerating development and reducing time to market.
