The M3331 series is more than just a hardware platform; it's a comprehensive solution designed to address the challenges customers face when processing complex control algorithms and protecting intellectual property (IP). Powered by the Cortex®-M33 core, which incorporates a DSP instruction set and a single-precision floating-point unit (FPU), it achieves speeds of up to 180 MHz. Furthermore, it integrates comprehensive security mechanisms. Through Secure Boot at the hardware level, it ensures that the system runs only certified and authorized firmware from startup, establishing an immutable root of trust.
To protect critical IP assets, it incorporates Execution-Only Memory (XOM), preventing code leakage. Additionally, TrustZone® technology creates a secure execution environment that effectively protects against malicious attacks.
Designed for reliability, the M3331 series supports a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +105°C and offers high interference resistance (ESD HBM 4 kV / EFT 4.4 kV), significantly reducing the risk of downtime due to environmental factors. To further enhance system reliability, the 512 KB Flash memory includes Error Correction Code (ECC) to detect and correct bit errors. Furthermore, within the 320 KB of SRAM, hardware parity checking is provided in the 64 KB core area, achieving true industrial-grade robustness.
To meet the diverse communication demands of the IoT era, the M3331 series incorporates an I3C interface and two CAN FD controllers, significantly increasing data transfer performance between sensors and control nodes. For high-speed peripherals and mass storage, it includes a USB 2.0 High-Speed OTG controller (with integrated PHY) and an SDH (Secure Digital Host) interface, delivering outstanding performance for both low-latency gaming products and high-bandwidth smart devices.
Furthermore, the M3331 series features a 12-bit ADC with a sampling rate of up to 4.2 Msps, capable of accurately capturing variations in analog signals. With up to 48 PWM outputs, it provides precise control for professional and stage lighting. Notably, it integrates ELLSI (Enhanced LED Light Strip Interface) and up to 10 LLSI interfaces, compatible with advanced ARGB protocols for gaming lighting. This reduces CPU load and simplifies development, enabling dynamic and fluid LED effects. The M3331 series offers multiple package options, from the compact QFN 33 (4x4 mm) to the LQFP 128 (14x14 mm), facilitating optimized PCB design.
To accelerate time to market, Nuvoton provides the NuMaker-M3333KI and NuMaker-M3334KI evaluation boards, along with full support for popular RTOSs (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, RT-Thread) and graphics libraries (emWin, LVGL), enabling customers to quickly develop stable solutions.
The M3331 series is divided into two subseries: the M3333 (without USB 2.0) and the M3334 (with USB 2.0).
