The new products (and others in the TXZ+ family) are ideal for a wide range of applications, such as office equipment (multifunction printers), audio/video (AV) equipment, IoT, home appliances, building automation and factory automation, or anywhere high-speed data processing is required.

All the new devices utilize the Arm Cortex-M4 core and include a floating-point unit (FPU) operating at speeds up to 200 MHz. They also integrate 2048 KB of flash memory for code, an additional 32 KB of data flash with a 100 kW write cycle endurance, and 4 KB of user data flash. The new microcontrollers also incorporate multiple interfaces and various communication options.

All devices in the M4G group, including those announced today, have integrated enhanced communication features such as a serial memory interface. Supported standards include quad/octal SPI, audio interface (I2S), as well as UART, FUART, TSPI, and I2C. A bus matrix architecture and three-unit DMAC significantly improve communication performance compared to conventional products.

The new devices support a wide range of sensing applications thanks to their high-speed, high-precision 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC), which allows for individual sampling and hold times to be set for each input channel, supporting up to 24 channels. These devices provide highly effective solutions for AC motors and brushless DC (BLDC) motors with the integration of Toshiba's Advanced Programmable Motor Driver (A-PMD).

The built-in self-diagnostic functions for the ROM, RAM, ADC, and clock support the achievement of IEC60730 Class B functional safety certification. These new devices offer low power consumption and high levels of functionality, while maintaining good compatibility with existing TXZ™ family M4G group devices.

Complete documentation, sample software (with real-world usage examples), and driver software for each peripheral are available for free download from the Toshiba website. Evaluation boards and development environments are also provided in collaboration with Toshiba's global ecosystem partners.
