KIOXIA Europe's automotive UFS supports a wide temperature range (-40°C to +105°C), meets AEC-Q100 Grade 2 requirements, and offers the extended reliability required by various automotive applications. The 512GB device joins the company's existing automotive UFS lineup, which includes capacities of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
Innovations such as autonomous vehicles, more advanced infotainment systems, digital clusters, telematics, and ADAS not only provide an enhanced driving experience but also increase the demand for in-vehicle storage.
To meet this demand for high-capacity memory, KIOXIA developed the new 512GB automotive UFS, which integrates the company's proprietary BiCS FLASH™ 3D flash memory and controller into a single package. The 512GB automotive UFS offers several features well-suited to automotive application requirements, including refresh, thermal control, and extended diagnostics. The Refresh function can be used to update data stored on the UFS, helping to extend data lifespan. The thermal control function protects the device from overheating in high-temperature environments common in automotive applications. Finally, the extended diagnostics function helps the host processor easily understand the device's status.

KIOXIA Europe GmbH (formerly Toshiba Memory Europe GmbH), the European subsidiary of KIOXIA Corporation, has announced that it has begun testing the industry's first 512-gigabyte (GB) automotive universal flash storage (UFS) embedded memory solution compliant with JEDEC® Version 2.1.
