The new products allow for saving space on the board and reducing the number of components, as they allow for replacing larger resistors and reducing the number of resistors needed, while maintaining the reliability required of on-chip resistors against overvoltages.

As electronic equipment becomes increasingly sophisticated and requires greater power, the demand in the automotive, industrial, and consumer goods markets is also growing for electronic components that combine compact size with high power capacity. These trends are also increasing the need for smaller, highly reliable on-chip resistors, including surge-resistant models. Surge and electrostatic discharge (ESD) resistance, as well as high power capacity, are essential in power supply circuits and around interfaces.

To meet these needs, ROHM has optimized the design of the resistive element and electrodes in the SDR01 series. This ensures high power ratings in size 0402, while guaranteeing the reliability expected from on-chip resistors with high surge resistance.

The new products guarantee 0.33 W up to the Tk terminals' nominal temperature of 125 °C. This facilitates their use in demanding thermal environments, such as high-density assemblies and areas near heat-generating components, helping to reduce the burden of thermal design.

Furthermore, these products achieve a TCR of ±100 ppm/°C for 10 Ω ≤ R ≤ 2.2 MΩ. By eliminating resistance fluctuations caused by temperature changes, these products ensure stable circuit operation and contribute to smaller and more reliable power supply and peripheral interface circuits.

Mass production of the new products has already begun. Online sales have also started, and the products are now available for purchase through ROHM's online store, as well as online retailers such as DigiKey and Farnell.

ROHM will continue to expand its range of high-reliability on-chip resistors, contributing to greater miniaturization, higher power capacity and greater reliability in electronic equipment.
