Ideal for medical devices such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) coils, the SQ Series offers low ESR, high Q, and high current and self-resonance values. The SQ Series porcelain and ceramic multilayer capacitors incorporate palladium internal electrodes, as well as high-density, high-purity, fine-grained dielectric materials to keep moisture out. “This advanced design allows for equivalent series resistance values ​​up to 40 percent lower than other MLC versions,” says Larry Eisenberger, senior field application engineer at AVX.

 

With these high-performance materials and design, along with their high current carrying capacity and high-quality factors, the SQ series capacitors offer superior stability under changing voltage, frequency, time, and temperature stresses.

The SQ series capacitors are designed to operate between -55°C and 125°C and feature NPO and P90 characteristics, as well as a 100% tin finish. SQ series capacitors are available in sizes 0603, 0605, 0805, and 1210.
