Its high dielectric strength has been achieved thanks to a castor oil filling. Another advantage of its new design is the improved heat dissipation from inside the capacitor through the aluminum casing. Furthermore, hot spots are reduced, resulting in superior insulation properties and extending the component life to 100,000 hours (according to IEC 61071). Capacitance variations are less than 3%.

 

Thanks to their high voltage, long lifespan, and high current handling capacity, these capacitors are particularly well-suited for renewable energy generation applications, such as AC output filters in offshore wind turbines.
The components are designed for a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C. Their M10 threaded terminals ensure a reliable electrical connection. The terminals can be modified according to specific customer or application requirements. The containers are available in diameters of 75 or 85 mm and heights ranging from 115 to 270 mm.

Thanks to the overpressure protection of the disconnect switch, these capacitors pose no danger in case of overload. Like all Panasonic film capacitors, the new series also features self-healing properties: thus, disruptive discharges due to excessive voltage cannot cause short circuits or destroy the capacitor.
