This series comprises various components, from the SM15KPA17AN to the SM15KPA220CAN, forming the family. It has stand-off voltage ratings ranging from 17.0 to 220 volts to suit a wide variety of design requirements. The devices deliver 15,000 watts of peak pulse power dissipation for a 10/1000 microampere waveform. They are also compliant with IEC 61000-4-5 (overvoltage): 48A, 8/20 microampere - L3 (line-to-ground), L4 (line-to-line), and L1 (power). The components allow for unidirectional and bidirectional configurations, as well as easy mounting on a printed circuit board. The clamping time is <100 ps theoretical for unidirectional and 5 ns for bidirectional. The series is also RoHS compliant (Exemption 7).
The series comes in a high-power, surface-mount package weighing only 1.2 grams. The package also features lead-free silver plating. The reflow soldering temperature is 240-250 degrees Celsius, and the flammability rating is UL 94V-0.
