Nexperia's TrEOS ESD protection technology utilizes active silicon-controlled rectification to overcome traditional protection challenges. Capacitance is maintained at 0.5 pF, clamping voltage is only 3 V, and the devices can withstand voltage spikes and ESD pulses of up to 10 A 8/20 µs. This industry-leading performance across the board is offered in the extensively tested SOT23 package.
Lukas Droemer, Product Manager at Nexperia, states: “Our TrEOS technology has set the industry benchmark for mobile and computing ESD protection since its launch in 2015. Now, as there is increasing demand for connectivity in vehicles, Nexperia continues to qualify its TrEOS ESD protection portfolio for the automotive sector. With these new components, automotive design engineers can equip their new systems with the effectiveness of TrEOS ESD protection while simultaneously enhancing system robustness.”.
The first four PESD2USBx-T series ESD protection devices rated AEC-Q101 are now in mass production.
