The new RX2 series offers auto-tuning, maximizing PM motor performance and helping to save energy. The dual range of its predecessor, the RX, which included nominal specifications for normal (ND) and heavy-duty (HD) operation, has been upgraded to a triple range. This makes it possible to use a single drive for a wide range of motor applications, minimizing space requirements and maximizing performance.
The RX2 series retains the mounting dimensions of the previous RX model, simplifying the control panel replacement process and mounting locations. Furthermore, the CX-Drive software can still be used, allowing parameter settings and programs used with the previous model to be converted and transferred to the new RX2 drives.
Thanks to the integrated noise filter, which complies with the European Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (IEC61800-3 Environmental Category C3 and UL Power Conversion Equipment/UL61800-5-1), users do not need additional external hardware, thus avoiding future costs. The new full-color LCD interface makes setup and operation intuitive and easy. The parameter copy function allows users to quickly copy settings to other RX2 drives. Furthermore, the RX2 drive can perform simple sequence control programmed using the CX-Drive support software.
Crane control, voltage control, and other large-scale processes requiring fast control speeds can be configured without a PLC, thus optimizing costs. Furthermore, the RX2 includes Safe Torque Off (STO) as standard to meet your machine safety requirements and is certified to IEC 61800-5-2:2016 STO SIL3 and ISO 13849-1:2015 Cat.4 PLe safety standards. RX2 drives can be connected to Omron's NX and NJ machine automation controllers to enhance production development and productivity (the EtherCAT option will be available soon).
“The new RX2 drives offer high performance. Our goal is to continuously improve our drives to meet market demands, such as increased energy efficiency. Furthermore, upgrading to the new RX2 drives is very easy for our existing customers, as the RX2 is even more intuitive and faster to use than the previous RX model,” says Alberto Fuentes, Director of Drive Product Marketing for Europe.
