These integrated NPUs are optimized to improve the efficiency and accuracy of AI inference. Combined with traditional CPU and GPU components, the architecture delivers up to 39 TOPS of performance. They also support dual-channel DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen4, providing significant computing power with flexible TDP and thermal solutions. Value-added software services, such as the Edge AI SDK integrated with AMD Ryzen™ AI software, accelerate model migration. These features make the solutions ideal for edge applications, including HMIs, machine vision in industrial automation, intelligent management and interactive services in urban entertainment systems, and healthcare devices such as ultrasound machines.
“The SOM-6873, AIMB-2210, and AIR-410, powered by the AMD Ryzen Embedded 8000 Series, will usher in a new era of Edge AI computing, thanks to COM Express standard and industrial form factor motherboards with integrated NPUs to enable seamless AI transformation in sectors such as healthcare, industrial automation, and smart cities,” said Yousef Khalilollahi, Corporate Vice President, Embedded Business Group at AMD.
AMD Ryzen™ Embedded 8000 Series processors deliver enhanced computing power with up to eight cores and improved performance per watt. They are available in configurations ranging from 15W to 54W TDP. The SOM-6873, AIMB-2210, and AIR-410 models utilize this architecture to deliver up to 1.6x the CPU and GPU performance of AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 Series processors. These AI modules and motherboards achieve up to 39 TOPS in AI processing, delivering up to 1.79x better AI performance (Yolov8) and superior edge inference for computer vision, self-service, medical, and entertainment applications.

Designed for applications such as multimedia, gaming, robotics, and real-time control, the SOM-6873 COM Express Compact Type 6 module supports up to 96GB of dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory, up to 20 PCIe Gen4 lanes, four SATA 3.0 ports, and incorporates an efficient QFCS thermal design to prevent performance drops at temperatures up to 60°C. In addition to the scalable COM module for easy upgrades without requiring a complete system overhaul, Advantech also provides reference carrier board designs to accelerate application development, such as in medical devices.
The AIMB-2210 is a low-profile Mini-ITX motherboard that combines a compact form factor with robust functionality and includes 8 USB ports, a PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, 3 M.2 slots for NVMe SSDs, additional AI modules, wireless connectivity, and a wide-range 12-24V DC input, streamlining integration into space-constrained systems.
The AIR-410 AI inference system is not only compatible with the RTX-6000Ada, but also includes an integrated 850W power supply to support advanced components, thus responding to specific scenarios that require a powerful yet compact design for optimized deployment.
