This Advantech platform is the first 3.5" SBC to incorporate the new 9th generation Intel® Xeon®/Core™ six-core processor. This next-generation SBC doubles USB speeds by utilizing USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps). The MIO-5393, which incorporates a Gen9LP graphics unit, supports three simultaneous displays with 48-bit LVDS (optional eDP), HDMI (up to 4K at 30 Hz), and DisplayPort (up to 4K at 60 Hz). The MIO-5393 supports up to 32GB (64GB*) of dual-channel DDR4 2400MHz memory and features an M.2 M-Key 2280 slot for high-speed NVMe/PCIe Gen3x4 PCIe SSD storage, delivering extremely high data transfer speeds for processing and storage. The Advantech MIO-5393 incorporates the innovative QFCS (Quadro Flow Cooling System) thermal solution for excellent temperature management. This advanced, low-profile, high-efficiency cooling solution enables outstanding performance. It features a slim and lightweight thermal solution with a quiet fan that allows for high CPU loads without straining its speed. The MIO-5393 utilizes two different TDPs (25W/45W) with either an active or passive heatsink to expand the operating temperature range (-40 ~ 85°C / -40 ~ 185°F). Advantech's advanced thermal solution employs four symmetrical, threaded holes near the CPU to significantly reduce thermal resistance and dissipate heat rapidly. The Advantech 3.5" SBC effectively addresses the temperature and thermal challenges commonly faced by outdoor electronic kiosks, railway applications, and manufacturing environments.
The MIO-5393 incorporates iManager 3.0, which is based on Advantech's EIO-201 embedded management controller. iManager 3.0 integrates power management for improved reliability, as well as GPIO, hardware monitoring, intelligent fan control, and a watchdog timer. iManager 3.0 also offers dedicated features such as high-speed RS-232/422/485 up to 1 Mbps, I²C (100 kbps/400 kbps/1 Mbps), and CANBus. The MIO-5393 provides two M.2 expansion slots: an E-key for WiFi+BT wireless modules or AI acceleration cards, and a B-key for 3G/LTE modules or SATA SSDs (optionally with an M-key for high-speed NVMe/PCIe x4 SSDs). Additionally, Advantech's MIOe expansion interface provides 4x PCIe x1 / DDI / USB / LPC / SMBus connectivity for vertical or custom expansion. For example, the MIO-5393 supports Advantech's MIOe-260 I/O expansion module and adds 2x GbE, 8x UART, 4x USB, 2x isolated CANBus, 1 miniPCIe socket, and 1 M.2 B-key socket. This diverse and expansive I/O capability is suitable for AGVs in factories, CNC automation, and medical applications.
The MIO-5393 provides ready-to-use images of Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, along with the iManager software API and the SUSI utility. Advantech's WISE-DeviceOn—software for managing operations and remotely monitoring IoT devices—facilitates the integration, visualization, and management of industrial IoT devices via a public or private cloud. WISE-DeviceOn's user-friendly interface allows users to monitor device status, control power on/off in real time, troubleshoot issues, and perform over-the-air (OTA) updates, both on-site and remotely.
