The TSW1405EVM is a low-cost data acquisition board that can be used to evaluate some of TI's most popular high-speed ADCs. The TSW1406EVM is a pattern generator board for DACs. Both boards support a high-speed LVDS bus capable of sending/receiving 16-bit samples at 1.0 GSPS. The platform supports a sampling rate of 64kHz and allows data acquisition on up to eight channels simultaneously.
Each board includes a LatticeECP3 FPGA, which interfaces directly with the converter. To improve upon the initial designs, Lattice and TI collaborated to apply the LatticeECP3 HDL design files to certain TI DACs and ADCs, including the single-channel, 14-bit, 250 MSPS ADS4149 and ADS61B49; the dual-channel ADS4249 and ADS62P49; the dual-channel, 12-bit, 1000 MSPS ADS5400; the single-channel, 12-bit, 500 MSPS ADS5463; and the quad-channel, 11-bit, 200 MSPS ADS58C48.
The TSW1405EVM and TSW1406EVM are compatible with a software package that includes an intuitive and user-friendly graphical user interface. Configuration and operation are performed via a single mini-USB cable plugged into the PC. This connection transmits data and powers the device.
