Astarte serves as an IoT communication and data orchestration layer, facilitating field data management. It incorporates all the necessary components to process data locally through a range of built-in functions and connect a fleet of devices to a suite of remote, cloud-hosted applications. Astarte performs tasks including data modeling, automated data reduction, and real-time event facilitation, encompassing every feature expected of modern IoT middleware. Astarte is fully open source. Its architecture allows it to scale to a large number of device nodes, supporting large-scale messaging and data orchestration without compromising stability and reliability.
Delivering through the Google Cloud Marketplace will provide users with a consumption-based, Software as a Service (SaaS) version of Astarte. For businesses, this simplifies the deployment and subsequent scaling of their IoT applications through Google Cloud’s trusted, global infrastructure. A wide range of options will be offered, from affordable starter plans to fully dedicated instances. Astarte will also integrate natively and tightly with the broader Google Cloud ecosystem, including Pub/Sub and BigQuery.
Following Astarte, other modules of the Clea software suite will soon be released individually on the Google Cloud Marketplace. This strategic approach, which aims to make Clea components readily available through native integration with the Google Cloud ecosystem, allows developers to choose whether to use them collectively or individually, perfectly aligning with the requirements of their IoT applications.
Google Cloud Marketplace allows users to quickly deploy working software packages that run on Google Cloud, enabling customers to easily get a familiar software package up and running with services like Compute Engine or Cloud Storage, without manual configuration.
“Our inclusion in the Google Cloud Marketplace is a key milestone in our effort to offer IoT developers the best of both worlds: the simplicity and convenience of SaaS and PaaS solutions, and the advantages and guarantees of an open-source ecosystem,” said Dario Freddi, Director of IoT and Strategy at SECO. “We are committed to filling the gap left by the outdated IoT Core with an even better developer experience, and through the same convenience and integration with the broader Google Cloud ecosystem. We will also be doubling down on our investment in Google Cloud with new releases of other Clea modules, in line with our mission to become the best choice for building IoT applications on Google Cloud.”.
“The addition of SECO to the Google Cloud Marketplace will help customers quickly deploy, manage, and scale Astarte on Google Cloud’s trusted global infrastructure,” said Dai Vu, General Manager, Marketplace & ISV GTM Programs at Google Cloud. “SECO can now securely scale and support customers on their digital transformation journeys.”.
