It is compatible with Arduino and comes with a wide variety of factory-installed I/O ports and sensors, and also features energy-efficient wireless connectivity technology.

The SmartEverything board stands out for having an ultra-low power Atmel D21 MCU microcontroller, based on the 32-bit ARM® Cortex®-M0+ processor and a SIGFOX communications module for IoT connectivity.

It features SIGFOX, an efficient, long-range transmission technology that utilizes ultra-narrow band (UNB) radio technology, offering low data transfer rates of 10 to 1,000 bits per second. However, its energy efficiency is noteworthy, typically consuming only 50 μW, compared to the 5,000 μW required, for example, for mobile communication. This translates into a significant increase in battery life for mobile or portable IoT devices.

SIGFOX connectivity is based on the high-performance Telit LE51-868S module, a certified SIGFOX gateway with Telit's proprietary Star Network protocols. Telit Cloud management software enables easy cloud connectivity.

The SmartEverything board also includes Atmel Chip cryptographic authentication; an 868 MHz antenna; a GPS module with integrated antenna for location applications, which is compatible with GPS, QZSS, and GLONASS standards, as well as being ready for use with Galileo; a proximity and ambient light sensor; a capacitive digital sensor for humidity and temperature measurements; a nine-axis 3D accelerometer, a combined 3D gyroscope and 3D magnetometer sensor; a MEMS-based pressure sensor; an NTAG I2C NFC (Near Field Communication) module; and a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) module.

The SmartEverything PCB measures only 68.8 mm x 53.3 mm, with the USB connectors, power connector, and extended antenna protruding beyond the board's perimeter. The board can be powered in three ways: via two 1.5V AA batteries (1.4V to 3.2V); an external 5-45V power supply; or via the 5V mini-USB connector.

The SmartEverything board allows for quick and easy development. It is also compatible with the Arduino integrated development environment and Atmel Studio.
