The Maum Edge AI platform combines Edge AI devices and Maum AI Cloud to enhance and expand services with greater usability and scalability. Minds Lab is initially using Blaize for its "Edge AI Road," "Edge AI Street," and "Edge AI Home" services, all of which are AI-enabled CCTV-based solutions.
"The maum.ai edge service is an example of how Blaize's hardware and software products offer the right balance of performance with low power consumption, low latency, and programmability to enable cutting-edge production computing for AI applications at the edge," said Dinakar Munagala, CEO of Blaize. "Combined with Minds Lab's innovations, end users can access the power of affordable AI to improve security and convenience."
A Major Breakthrough in AI-as-a-Service at the Edge:
The Edge AI Road app provides traffic surveillance, including vehicle and license plate detection, as well as speed and lane violations. Edge AI Street provides surveillance of sidewalks and areas near homes, focusing on pedestrian traffic and unusual behavior (such as theft). Edge AI Home provides monitoring of various activities in public and private indoor spaces.
The Maum.ai platform allows customers to download AI applications just like a mobile phone app. Customers download an application from Minds Lab.
"The AI applied to CCTV with Minds Lab's Edge AI is highly effective at monitoring objects and analyzing data efficiently and quickly," commented Dr. Hoon Paek, CTO of Minds Lab. "Based on Blaize's edge AI hardware, we plan to combine Minds Lab's unique AI technology to provide large-scale services to the edge AI service platform market in Korea, the United States, and abroad."
The AI cloud and its installation on a network are then registered, activated, and configured to perform various analyses through Minds Lab's cloud-based, real-time interface.
Minds Lab is recognized for its AI technology solutions built with Blaize edge AI hardware, such as the enterprise CCTV video data building solution for the city of Suwon, which immediately alerts controllers when abnormal behavior, such as assault or theft, is detected. In particular, the Minds Lab AI-enabled CCTV service in Suwon City passed a rigorous performance verification by the Korea Data Services Authority (KISA) in recognizing loitering, intrusion, and fainting behavior.
Blaize's leadership focuses on system and energy efficiency, low latency, and flexibility.
Blaize's embedded and acceleration platforms are based on the Blaize Graph Streaming Processor (GSP) architecture, designed for the demands of edge computing. Blaize Xplorer platforms accelerate AI applications at the enterprise edge through easy connection to a server or host device's PCIe slot. Blaize's AI software suite, comprised of Blaize Picasso and AI Studio, leads the industry with open standards and ease of access, reducing the time to production for edge applications from months to days.
