Lattice's SiBEAM® phased-array antenna and electronic beam steering technology minimize installation time and substantially reduce maintenance costs for fixed and mobile broadband network operators. The modular system offers a complete solution that accelerates development and reduces design risk and implementation costs for communications equipment.

The increase in data production and consumption, particularly in urban environments, is driving commercial and public broadband network operators to increase capacity at the network edge. The unlicensed 60 GHz band offers operators a unique combination of high data capacity, high spectrum reuse, and low administrative costs, collectively enabling an effective alternative to expensive and time-consuming fiber deployment. Conventional 60 GHz products are cumbersome and costly to install and maintain. Lattice's GigaRay modules give operators the opportunity to fully exploit the potential of the 60 GHz band.

“Urban consumers, businesses, and smart city initiatives are driving demand for ubiquitous, high-speed data across all regions, but at a price that fiber can’t match,” said Neil Bullock, Director of Business Development and Strategic Marketing at Lattice Semiconductor. “Lattice’s GigaRay modules, utilizing SiBEAM phased-array antenna and electronic beam steering technologies, are the perfect combination to enable any type of network operator to efficiently deliver Gigabit-class band connectivity using the 60 GHz band.”.

The MOD65412 module set supports distances up to 200 meters at 1 Gbps TCP/IP and up to 300 meters at 300 Mbps TCP/IP data bandwidth, with a 45-degree direction range. To support technology evaluation and prototype development, Lattice offers the SK65415 mini PC-based evaluation kit and the SK65412 development kit.
