The platform is based on the Avnet MicroZed System-on-Module (SoM) with a fully programmable Xilinx Zynq®-7000 SoC and pluggable sensor solutions from Maxim Integrated and STMicroelectronics. The kit integrates the IBM Watson IoT Agent Platform on top of a certified and custom-configured image of the Wind River® Pulsar™ Linux operating system, now standard on MicroZed and PicoZed SoMs. Using the standard MQTT messaging protocol, the IBM Watson IoT Platform Agent enables a secure, registered connection to the Watson IoT Platform and additional cloud services and applications from the IBM Bluemix® product portfolio. These provide a rich palette of configurable services to rapidly enhance IoT solutions with cognitive capabilities.
