The AIMB-218, built on a low-power (6 to 12W) 10nm process, supports up to four cores with a turbo frequency of 3.0GHz and up to 850MHz of 11th-generation graphics. This increases CPU performance by up to 50% and doubles its graphics processing capabilities compared to the previous generation of Atom processors. The AIMB-218 is designed for industrial connectivity applications requiring high-resolution, low-power graphics, such as retail displays, smart kiosks, digital signage, smart manufacturing, medical devices, and smart cities (e.g., traffic and parking management). Furthermore, its wide operating temperature range (-20 to 70°C) makes it ideal for industrial environments partially exposed to the outdoors.
The Advantech AIMB-218 delivers high-level graphics with up to 32 EUs of Intel® UHD Graphics. It supports high-performance display interfaces such as DisplayPort 1.2, HDMI 1.4, LVDS, and eDP, enabling progressive scan of 4K resolution at 60 fps across three displays. Furthermore, the AIMB-218 enhances its memory capacity with up to 32GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory and IBECC. The AIMB-218 achieves low latency for high-resolution video content in embedded display control applications by utilizing next-generation graphics, memory, and high-speed data transfer.
The AIMB-218's compact form factor (21 mm/0.82" height) incorporates a variety of I/O ports, including two GbE LAN ports, three USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, five USB 2.0 ports, and one SATA III port. The AIMB-218 also features six high-speed COM (1 Mbps) ports (COM 1 for 5V/12V and COM 2 for RS-232/422/485 auto-flow control) to improve data synchronization accuracy across the network and reduce latency during device communication.
AIMB-218 Mini-ITX motherboard offers one PCIe Gen 3 slot to enhance its AI capabilities. Its M.2 (E Key) slot for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, and its M.2 (B Key) slot with SIM card support for LTE and mSATA modules, enable scalable and efficient network and storage configurations.
All expansions are implemented on top of the board to facilitate modular and flexible expansion.
