Thanks to Intel® socket hybrid processors, now with Intel® Core™ (2nd series) processors, high multithreaded performance can be achieved with 4 additional efficient cores in the Intel® Core™ 7 processor, for up to 24 cores/32 threads in total (8P+16E). Its higher single-core P turbo frequency of up to 6 GHz enables faster analysis of large volumes of data and results.

The extensive I/O and memory of Intel® Core™ (2nd series) processors helps connect more accelerators, peripherals, and sensors: up to 16 PCIe 5.0 lanes and 4 PCIe 4.0 lanes on the CPU and up to 12 PCIe 4.0 lanes and 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes outside the PCH. The maximum capacity is 128 GB.

The new processor is well-suited for high-performance, real-time applications such as medical imaging, testing and measurement, communications and networking, and other applications requiring peak performance. In all cases, extended product lifecycles are available, with up to 10 years of availability.

“The modular design of standardized COMs offers high scalability and easy upgrades, even between processor generations. Intel® Core™ (2nd series) processors are compatible with motherboards designed for Intel® Core™ 12th, 13th, and 1st and 2nd generation processors,” explains Heiko Batzhuber, COM-HPC Client Product Manager at JUMPtec®. “Our COM-HPC Client evaluation carrier offers a full suite of standard interfaces, including USB, SATA, and DisplayPort, as well as numerous PCIe interfaces, enabling and optimizing the design phase. Simply select a JUMPtec® module and plug it in.”.
