The CM5 features a BCM2712 quad-core 64-bit Cortex®-A76 (Arm® v8) system-on-a-chip (SoC) with a VideoCore VII GPU and supports OpenGL ES 3.1 and Vulkan 1.3. It also offers dual HDMI 4Kp60 display output. Additionally, there is an optional integrated dual-band Wi-Fi module based on the Cypress CYW43455 (supporting 2.4 and 5 GHz IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ac wireless connections), Bluetooth® 5.0 and BLE, and two USB 3.0 interfaces supporting simultaneous 5 Gbps operation. These modules also support two 4-line MIPI interfaces, each of which can be either a DSI (display) or CSI (camera) interface.

The CM5 is available with various eMMC storage densities (from 0 GB [Lite] to 64 GB), DRAM densities (2, 4, 8, and 16 GB), and wireless and non-wireless variants. The CM5 features a 4kp60 HEVC decoder, IEEE 1588-compliant Gigabit Ethernet PHY, and a USB 2.0 (high-speed) port. The modules include a single 5V power supply input that supports USB PD up to 5A at 5V. The CM5 also adds enhanced capabilities for AI, machine vision, industrial automation, smart homes, healthcare monitoring, and other embedded applications. Mouser also stocks the Raspberry Pi CM5 development kit.
