In 2022, Red Pitaya goes multichannel. Applications such as medical and industrial imaging (MRI and ultrasound systems), non-destructive testing, RADAR/LIDAR, phased array antennas, multichannel scientific detector readouts, multichannel SDR receivers, and power grid monitoring require multichannel signal acquisition and generation solutions that can be very expensive, as the price increases rapidly with each additional channel. This year, Red Pitaya will change this with the launch of two new solutions: the STEMlab 125-14 X-Channel system, which will allow users to adjust the number of channels required to their specific needs, and a 4-input RF test and measurement platform on a single board that will meet the needs of multichannel applications.
The STEMlab 125-14 X-Channel system is designed for applications requiring multiple channels for RF signal acquisition or generation. It consists of several STEMlab 125-14 devices with synchronized clocks and triggers, and includes software that supports multichannel transmission of input and output signals to/from a client PC via a 1Gbit Ethernet interface. The X-Channel system will be released in June 2022.
The 4-input STEMlab 125-14 system is based on the STEMlab 125-14 model, but instead of 2 RF inputs and 2 RF output channels, it offers 4 input channels operating at 125 Msps/14bit, comes with the Zynq7020, and has improved noise and crosstalk performance. The 4-input STEMlab 125-14 will be available in September 2022.

Mateja Lampe, Managing Director, comments: “There are several medical, telecommunications, and automotive applications that require multichannel RF signal processing solutions and that play a huge role in improving the quality and safety of our lives and the products we use. At Red Pitaya, we believe that by bringing more affordable multichannel solutions to the market, we will help researchers and industry solve these difficult problems more quickly and effectively.”
