At just 72 mm high, the XH170V can be used flat, vertically on a kickstand, or mounted on a monitor or other surface using a compatible VESA mount. Its black-painted steel housing can accommodate two 2.5" drives and one Slimline drive, or three 2.5" drives. All connections and the optical drive bay on the front are concealed by high-gloss covers.
But this barebone also shines in its technical specifications. It supports numerous Intel Celeron, Pentium, and Core processors for the LGA1151 socket (TDP up to 65 watts) and 16 GB of DDR3L memory distributed across two slots. The motherboard features an M.2 slot (e.g., for SATA SSDs), a Mini-PCI-Express x1 2.0 slot (e.g., for a WLAN module), and three SATA connections with 6 Gbit/s and RAID.
In addition, the front and rear panels include four USB 3.0 ports, four USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, RS-232, Gigabit Ethernet, two DisplayPorts, and an HDMI port.
The monitor connections mentioned last are suitable for current high-resolution displays, which can now be controlled simultaneously. Starting with Core i3 processors, they support 4K monitors at 60Hz (via DisplayPort) and 30Hz (via HDMI).
