Although RECOM is a renowned manufacturer of DC/DC converters, its portfolio also covers a wide range of AC/DC products from 1 W to 960 W. While the knowledge accumulated in the development of these AC/DC products is sometimes similar to that of DC/DC products, it can be quite different in other respects. The new RECOM AC/DC Knowledge Book will be published as a companion volume to the DC/DC Knowledge Book. The author of both volumes, Steve Roberts, states, “The DC/DC Knowledge Book has been so well received in the industry and educational communities that I felt compelled to write a companion AC/DC book. The two books together cover many of the fundamental topics in power supply development.” The new AC/DC book has 12 technical chapters covering AC/DC linear supplies, apparent, reactive, and active power, AC theory, selection of active and passive AC components, CFP techniques, and much more. These topics have been chosen so as not to overlap with the chapters in the CC/CC book, ensuring that both books reinforce each other rather than being repetitive.
