In line with the processor's capabilities, up to 128 GB of RAM can be installed across four slots. There are also few limitations regarding hard drives. Fast NVMe SSDs can be installed in the M.2-2280 slot, and thanks to the four SATA ports, the corresponding hard drives or SSDs can be installed. The R6 enclosure provides space for two 3.5" drives (one internal and one external) and one 5.25" drive; the R8 model, on the other hand, allows for the integration of four internal 3.5" drives, which, with the appropriate adapter, can also be used in the 2.5" format.

"The compact dimensions of just 33.2 × 21.5 × 19.0 cm make it easy to use in various locations," explains Tom Seiffert, Marketing and PR Director at Shuttle Computer Handels GmbH. "Ideal, for example, for content production from anywhere."

The difference between the three models lies, apart from the appearance and the space available for data units, in the cooling system or the power supply mounted on the equipment.

SH570R6: 2 x 3.5" + 1 x 5.25", 300-watt power supply (80 PLUS Bronze) SH570R6 Plus: 2 x 3.5" + 1 x 5.25", 500-watt power supply (80 PLUS Gold) SH570R8: 4 x 3.5", additional cooling system for disk drives, 500-watt power supply (80 PLUS Gold)

All variants share a prestigious heatpipe cooling system that expels the heat generated by the processor directly out of the case through four heatpipes. The large case fan creates negative pressure to draw fresh air in and cool the components.

On the front and rear, there are USB 3.2 ports with 10 Gbit/s bandwidth, three 4K-compatible monitor jacks, and, particularly interesting for core network applications, two Gigabit Ethernet ports for separate networks, with tolerance to faults or load balancing. And the motherboard's M.2-2230 slot can be used, for example, for WLAN expansion.

The H570-based XPC cubes are the first in their series to feature the convenient Remote Power On connection. The familiar four-pin connection from the "XPC slim" family on the back of the units for remote power-on is also present here. This requires a 2-pole wire, the appropriate female connector, and any push button. Shuttle offers the necessary accessories with a two-meter cable.

Additional accessories include a 2.5" bracket (PHD3), a WLAN/Bluetooth module (WLN-M), a COM port adapter (H-RS232), and the Remote Power On connection cable (CXP01).
