Distec PCAP Touch Design W"Whether it's a custom color print or a custom touch in a special size with side buttons, we offer countless design variations. The application areas are virtually limitless, ranging from public spaces like point-of-sale (POS) systems and signage to mobile applications and use in machinery for production and industrial applications." Distec also optically bonds the touchscreen to a TFT display in a single unit. The state-of-the-art VacuBond optical bonding technology improves readability in sunlight and prevents fogging caused by moisture ingress.

Distec laminates PCAP tactile sheets in sizes from 17.78 to 68.58 cm (7 to 27 inches) onto custom glass. Special glass shapes, organic or ceramic prints in custom colors, and logo printing: Distec implements these according to customer specifications. Options range from special coatings such as glare-reducing or privacy filters to shatterproof safety glass in various concentrations, which is essential, especially in public areas.

Using a touch film instead of a conventional touchscreen eliminates a layer of glass between the TFT display and the glass cover. This reduces light refraction, resulting in improved optical performance for both the touch screen and the display unit. Furthermore, this solution saves space and weight, a significant advantage for mobile applications or devices with limited space.

Depending on the version, multi-touch panels provide up to ten touch points and are available with different interfaces: in addition to cost-effective versions with an I²C controller, there are HID-compatible versions with a USB controller. These do not require drivers for modern operating systems such as Windows 7 or later. Some touch panels also provide an RS232 interface. Besides the modular design, PCAP touch panels are available as a standard product with black passe-partout printing.
