The standard configuration is 4 lines by 10 characters. Alternatively, 2 lines of double-height characters or 3 lines (1 double-height and 2 normal-height) can be displayed. The dimensions are only 36 x 28 mm.
It has support for games with characters in English, European languages and Cyrillic on a single screen, another special feature of the EA DOGS104-A.
The EA DOGS104-A is also very versatile. Developers can switch between I²C and SPI ports.
The separation of the display and backlight functions is another special design feature. The two units can be configured simply by connecting them. Several display technologies, such as FSTN, STN, and positive/negative display, are available and can be combined with three different backlight colors. Lighting options include a 2-color version and a 3-color red/green/white version. The design is very compact, and even with the display backlight, it has an ultra-slim profile of only 4.6 mm at most.
For easy setup and prototyping, a USB breadboard with PC connection and Windows software, including a free simulator, is available.
