The new IPCs are designed for maintenance-free, 24/7 operation and meet demanding requirements for temperature, vibration, shock, and EMC. These highly expandable and configurable units feature robust metal enclosures suitable for the most demanding, maintenance-free automation solutions. They are mounted directly onto the machine, for example, in wind or solar power plants, or in tire manufacturing. The IPC427E Microbox PC offers flexible installation options, while the IPC477E Panel PC features an integrated widescreen industrial touchscreen in 15", 19", or 22" sizes. Both fanless IPCs are space-saving and can be deployed in a wide range of applications, including communication, measurement, open- or closed-loop control, and HMI tasks.

The Simatic IPC427E Microbox integrated PC, designed for machine, plant, and control systems, is ideal as a compact PC platform for process or machine-level use in industrial environments. Its application range extends from complex control tasks (using high-level languages) and visualization solutions to production-level data acquisition and analysis. Thanks to its fanless design, SSD (solid-state drive) and CFast memory, the Microbox PC eliminates the need for rotating components, resulting in increased system availability. The device features three 10/100/1000 Mbit/s LAN ports with clustering capabilities, four high-speed USB 3.0 ports, and two optional serial interfaces. The Microbox PC offers flexible mounting options (DIN rail, wall, or book-style) and is easily expandable via two PCIe slots.

The Simatic IPC477E integrated Panel PC, designed for direct machine mounting, combines robustness, high reliability, and an open architecture. Its low-profile design makes it suitable for installation in space-constrained environments. The integrated Panel PC is particularly well-suited as a platform for PC-based automation in production and process automation, where it can be installed in control panels and consoles, as well as in 19" racks or cabinets. The compact Simatic IPC477E, which comprises a control unit with an integrated processor, features two display ports, for example, for connecting additional monitors, in addition to a wide range of interfaces: three 10/100/1000 Mbit/s LAN ports, four high-speed USB 3.0 ports, and two COM ports (RS232/RS485).
