The PPC10A is available with either eight or four e500mc cores, each operating at speeds up to 1.5 GHz. Combined with up to 8 GB of dual-channel DDR3 memory, its performance makes it ideal for the most demanding applications, while five levels of ruggedness allow it to operate in any environment, from the office to the harshest settings. It also offers significant flexibility with XMC/PMC and an AFIX (Additional Flexible Interface Extension) that can accommodate virtually any customer application. GE's AFIX optionally offers a range of features, including SCSI, VGA, digital I/O, a 1553 drive, and Flash. Customer-specific variants are also available.
In addition to the flexibility offered by its two XMC/PMC and AFIX slots, the PPC10A also provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports (with a two-port option available), two Serial ATA ports, two USB 2.0 ports (three additional USB 2.0 ports are optionally available), and 31 GPIO pins.
The PPC10A is supported by a comprehensive and user-friendly software environment, including Deployed Test Software (BIT and BCS). Operating system support is planned for VxWorks®, Wind River Hypervisor, Limux®, and INTEGRITY™.
