This comprehensive catalog of products, designed for industrial, automotive, and consumer applications, includes three key elements that ensure ease of use and accelerate time to market. First, all products are certified by UNH-IOP (University of New Hampshire Interoperability) testing. Second, they all come with free, third-party certified software drivers approved for use with major operating systems on smart, ready-to-copy evaluation boards. Finally, the GigEpack package is supported by Microchip's free online design service, LANCheck®, which reviews customer designs and ensures that best design practices are being applied.
The GigEpack product suite consists of three product families. The new KSZ9477/9567/9897 switch family offers features that allow users to create highly reliable networks with HSR/DLR redundancy and transport audio and video using AVB (Audio/Video Bridging).
For example, the KSZ9567 has seven ports and an SGMII interface, as well as EtherSynch® technology, which provides support for real-time Ethernet, IEEE 1588 v2 PTP (Precision Time Protocol), AVB, and TSN (Time-Sensitive Networking). The new LAN7800/LAN7850/LAN7801 bridge family allows customers to add Gigabit Ethernet to embedded processors by bridging USB 3.1 Gen 1, USB 2.0, or HSIC (High Speed Inter-Chip) to various physical networks, such as 1000Base-T or 100Base-T1 and HDBaseT via RGMII.
These products join Microchip's KSZ9031 family of Gigabit physical layers, characterized by their robustness and low power consumption for the automotive industry.
All products in the package are now available for sampling or for purchase for volume production. The KSZ9477/9567/9897 switch products are supplied in TQFP packages. The LAN7800/7850/7801 products are supplied in QFN packages. The KSZ9031 physical layer products are supplied in QFN packages.
