one-4683 prwebThe UNO-4683 joins the UNO-4673A, an Advantech system sold since April 2012 that is based on a low-power Intel® ATOM™ D510 dual-core processor. Both systems utilize Advantech's market-leading thermal management expertise to enable regular operation with 100% CPU loads at operating temperatures from -20°C to +70°C.

The UNO-4683 is a fanless PC with an Intel® Core™ i7 processor and a compact 2U form factor for 19” rack mounting. Its wide range of AC (100~240 VDC) and DC (106~250 VDC) power supply options delivers high performance and reliability. Certified to meet IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards for substations, the UNO-4683 is designed to communicate with all the different devices in a substation. It comes standard with six Ethernet LAN ports with redundant teaming functionality, six USB ports, and two isolated RS-232/422/485 serial ports.

The modular system allows you to configure inputs/outputs with UNOP modules to meet the needs of each application. The new modules include fiber optic LAN (UNOP-1514C), non-isolated serial ports (UNOP-1618D), isolated serial ports (UNOP-1628D), and IRIG-B with isolated serial ports (UNOP-1624D). UNOP modules also comply with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613 standards. UNOP modules are specifically designed for the UNO-4673A and UNO-4683. Modules for PCI, PCI-104, Mini PCI, Mini-PCI Express cards, and hard drives with RAID 0 and 1 support are now available.

Along with the hard drive and PCI/PCIe options, the modular approach allows system designers to use the same platform for all substation computing applications. The UNO-4673A and UNO-4683 can serve as excellent network analyzers, data storage concentrators, protocol gateways, controllers, and SCADA servers. And with the UNO-4683's high-performance Core i7 processor, system designers can now develop intensive applications such as security, protocol conversion, and virtualization.
