The DC17 panel PC is used in demanding HMI applications in the railway market, for example, for monitoring and controlling the status of train functions, speed optimization, fleet management, driver assistance systems, or CCTV.
The compact housing features an IP65-compliant front panel and provides ample space for a 12.1" impact-resistant LED-backlit XGA TFT LCD display. With a 1024 x 768 pixel resolution and projected capacitive touchscreen, the DC17 remains highly legible and easy to use, even in direct sunlight, such as in a driver's cab.
Compliant with EN 50155, the robust display unit includes an integrated wide-range power supply for either 24 VDC or 110 VDC, meeting Class S2 standards. Furthermore, the internal electronics are protected from dust and moisture by a compliant coating, designed for operation in temperatures ranging from -40 to +70 °C (+85 °C for 10 minutes according to Class TX), and are securely welded to withstand shock and vibration.
The panel PC, based on the AMD Dual Core T40E processor, communicates via 2x Ethernet. One USB port, one audio port, GPIO pins, and a serial interface are all accessible via M12 connectors on the rear panel.
Additionally, it features a PCI Express Mini Card slot and an M.2 slot, for example, to control wireless communication functions such as 2G, 3G, 4G, WLAN, or GPS. Two micro-SIM slots with dual-SIM functionality are also available.
The DC17 can be flexibly connected to an MVB (Multifunction Vehicle Bus) train network using a mini PCI Express card with master or slave support.
