“Like its sibling, the BoxPC Pro 7300, the BoxPC Pro NPA-1904 utilizes our unique docking connector, enabling control of external TFT displays with LVDS and backlighting, as well as two USB 2.0 interfaces,” explains Thomas Schrefel, Embedded Products Manager at Distec. “The docking connector allows you to connect a TFT display to any touchscreen device and another USB device, such as a webcam.” The embedded box PC is extremely robust, offers powerful computing capabilities, and operates reliably even under continuous operation with a 9-24 V DC power input. It is therefore ideal for cost-effective industrial applications in demanding environments, such as automation solutions, Industry 4.0, digital signage, medical technology, and transportation.

One Box PC, Many Possibilities.

In addition to the docking connector, the BoxPC Pro NPA-1904 offers a wide range of interfaces: a DisplayPort with a resolution of 4096x2304 pixels, two Gigabit Ethernet ports, and two RS485 and RS232 ports each. It features four USB 3.0 ports on the front and two USB 2.0 ports on the rear for connecting external USB devices. Despite its slim design, the NPA-1904 has two DDR4-2133 memory slots, each equipped with 4GB (8GB total). With a defined operating temperature range of 0 to 45°C, the BoxPC is ideal for conventional industrial use and includes an integrated watchdog timer.

Upon request, Distec supplies the embedded BoxPC with the Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2019 operating system pre-installed. This operating system has been specially designed for global industrial use and is equipped with special embedded features, such as a write filter. To ensure cybersecurity, the Box PC uses a TPM 2.0 chip on the hardware side for drive encryption.
