It can also be supplied with a backlight, as can a touch panel, and a USB breadboard is available as an optional accessory. The display comes with the UC1611s controller and integrated graphics RAM. There are three different LED backlight colors to choose from: white, amber, and a dual-color red/green option. The display can be ordered with a reflective white, black, blue, or super white backlight. It operates on standard 2.7V–3.3V power at temperatures between -20°C and +70°C. Typical current consumption is 500 μA. It is available with 3-pin and 4-pin SPI and I2C serial bus ports.
The large, compact display (external dimensions 94 x 40 mm) is ideal for installation in 19" rack units or larger. A Windows-based simulator is available for download from the website (search "DOG-Simulator"). It can be used to simulate all displays and colors without any hardware, making it easy to preview user-defined images and text that will appear on the screen.
When the EA 9780-3USB breadboard is connected to a PC's USB port, users can immediately see the display's contrast, viewing angle, and brightness. No software knowledge is required, and the display is automatically powered via the USB port.
