The VIA VAB-600 Pico-ITX motherboard boasts a comprehensive I/O array and outstanding multimedia performance, including an integrated multi-standard decoder for playing the most demanding video formats at resolutions up to 1080p. Leveraging VIA's expertise in hardware design, the VIA VAB-600 features a wide range of onboard connectors for optional 3G or Wi-Fi connectivity, touchscreen support, and battery or 12V~24V DC power options—all in an extremely compact design.
A hardware development starter kit is also available, as well as board support packages (BSPs) for Android (4.0) or Embedded Linux (Kernel 3.0.8) operating systems.
The VIA VAB-600 Pico-ITX,
based on the ultra-compact Pico-ITX form factor and measuring 10 x 7.2 cm, combines an 800 MHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor with an integrated 2D/3D graphics engine supporting OpenGL® ES 2.0 to deliver a smooth user experience and excellent multimedia performance. Customers can take advantage of VIA starter kits, which include a VIA VAB-600 Pico-ITX motherboard, a VAB-600-A I/O board, a VAB-600-C TTL converter board, a 7-inch TTL touchscreen panel, cables, and an 18W AC adapter.
The rear I/O consists of a Mini HDMI port, two Mini-USB 2.0 ports, a 10/100 Ethernet port, and a 12~24V DC power connection. Onboard features include: 4GB of eMMC flash memory, 1GB of DDR3 SDRAM, a DVO connector for TTL or LVDS displays, two COM ports, SPI, a USB 2.0 connector, a Mini Card slot (compatible with a USB 2.0 connection for adding an optional VNT9271B6050 Wi-Fi module), a SIM card slot, a touchscreen connector, front-panel audio and microphone input/output connectors, I2C and GPIO connectors, and a battery charger connector (with smart battery function).
