This is Shuttle's first Mini PC that can be configured with error-correcting ECC memory. It accommodates up to 128 gigabytes across four slots.
Another new feature is the four network connections: two with a bandwidth of 2.5 Gbps and two with 1 Gbps, enabling separate networks, failover, and load balancing. One of the connections is compatible with vPro and AMT and, with a suitable processor, allows for convenient remote management, even with the PC powered off.
The R8 aluminum enclosure accommodates four 3.5" SATA drives. Thanks to its dedicated cooling system, which generates constant airflow, heat buildup between the drives is prevented. It also features two M.2-2280 slots on the motherboard, suitable for NVMe SSDs with PCIe x4 4.0 and PCIe x4 3.0, allowing for a total of up to six drives.
For dual-slot or expansion graphics cards, this 33.2 × 21.5 × 19.0 cm (D × W × H) Mini PC features two PCI Express slots: one ×16 4.0* and one ×4 3.0. It also accommodates wireless modules (WLAN, etc.) or port cards that can be connected to an M.2-2230 slot.
The connections on the front and rear include 1× HDMI 2.0b*, 2× DisplayPort 1.4, 4× USB 3.2 (10 Gbit), 1× USB 3.2 Type C (5 Gbit), 3× USB 3.2 (5 Gbit), 4× USB 2.0, audio and the Remote Power On smart connection.
Optional accessories available include the WLAN ax/Bluetooth kit (WLN-M1) or WLAN ac/Bluetooth kit (WLN-M), the COM port adapter (H-RS232), a rack for two 2.5" disk drives in a 3.5" bay (PHD3), the Remote Power On connection cable (CXP01), and an 850-watt power supply (PC850).
