If the distance between the pre-connected surge protection and the components to be protected exceeds 10 meters, IEC 60364-5-53 recommends additional surge protection. Installing the VAL-MS PT surge protection module makes implementing this recommendation much easier. This module is available with or without a remote indication contact.
The push-in connection technology offers quick installation and uniform connection throughout the control cabinet. Nominal torque verification is eliminated. The protection module has two terminals per pole, enabling easy serial wiring of the power lines. This also saves on installation materials. Flexible and rigid conductors up to a maximum cross-section of 10 mm² can be connected. Direct voltage testing can be performed using the test points on each pole. The protection module also features an integrated optical status indicator in the male connector, showing the user whether the product is functioning correctly.
